Global Third-Party Logistics Company seeks a Director of Human Resources and Administration to join their expanding team! We are seeking a highly skilled professional with aspirations to advance quickly into an executive-level role.
What You’ll Be Doing (Responsibilities):
In this role, you will oversee corporate administration and HR operations, providing strategic advice to senior management. Responsibilities will span employee relations, benefits administration, compensation, payroll, HRIS, training, legal compliance, and talent acquisition.
Other responsibilities to include:
- Manage life, health, dental insurance, 401(k), vacation, sick leave, and LOA programs.
- Conduct annual evaluations for cost-effectiveness, utilization, and ACA compliance.
- Analyze and optimize HR processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and implement policies on company safety, workplace violence prevention, employee engagement, and handbooks.
- Conduct annual salary surveys and analyze market trends to maintain competitive pay structures.
- Oversee the performance evaluation program, ensuring equity and compliance.
- Collaborate with managers to develop job descriptions, recruit top talent, and foster workforce diversity.
- Partner with external recruiters and staffing agencies for effective hiring strategies.
- Develop succession planning and retention strategies for key talent.
- Conduct annual employee engagement surveys and present findings to senior leadership.
- Create coaching and training programs for managers on topics such as harassment, disciplinary actions, career development, and performance evaluations.
- Conduct investigations related to harassment, discrimination, and other workplace issues.
- Collaborate with HR Legal Counsel on compliance and policy matters.
- Manage employment-based visa and immigration processes (e.g., I-94, DS-156, I-140).
- Supervise company safety programs, including workplace violence prevention and OSHA compliance.
- Investigate workplace accidents and manage insurance claims.
- Lead and develop HR staff, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Oversee the issuance and renewal of business licenses, permits, and bonds.
- Manage contracts, agreements, and lease documentation in collaboration with legal counsel.
- Administer all corporate insurance policies, including health, liability, property, auto, and cargo coverage.
- Evaluate and renew policies annually to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Manage procurement processes and ensure compliance with asset control procedures.
- Oversee the corporate auto fleet leasing program and fuel management system.
- Lead energy-saving and sustainability initiatives for corporate headquarters.
- Act as the primary contact for business contingency planning and drills.
- Manage administrative staff to ensure smooth operations.
What You’ll Need (to be successful in this role):
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 15+ years of progressively responsible HR management experience.
- SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification (preferred).
- Comprehensive expertise in: Employee relations, investigations, and benefits administration. Talent acquisition, compensation, training, and compliance. Risk management experience, including insurance coverage and claims handling.
- Familiarity with HRIS, payroll systems, ATS, and LMS platforms (e.g., Paylocity, ADP, Ceridian).
What Would Be Preferred:
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese (preferred).
