Project Manager

OVERVIEW 

International Contract Logistics Company is seeking a Project Manager to oversee and coordinate  start-up operations, facility preparation, and software implementation
In this role, you will work directly with our domestic and international teams communicating creative vision as well as business objectives and strategies to cross functional partners, external vendors, agencies, as well as executive leadership teams.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
  • Exceed distribution financial standards by evaluating key performance indicators (KPI) and the development of a standardize operation procedure.
  • Conduct assistance visits to other organizations to review their procedures and make recommendations on how to ensure compliance with establish guidelines.
  • Conduct Kaizen event to better organize shipping and receiving areas thus improving efficiency and reducing errors.
  • Develop and implement strategic operation and business plans
  • Ability to establish and enhance operational functions
  • Responsible for implementation and administration of company policies, budgets and developing long range goals and objectives.
  • Identify and implements best practices
  • Review analyses of activities, costs, operations, labor plan/labor cost and forecast data to determine department progress toward stated goals and objectives.
  • Establish operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
  • Execute, monitor, and enhance safety and security procedures to ensure a safe work environment and reduce all safety related occurrences.
  • Support Kaizen and Quality initiatives.
  • Interface with customer to ensure satisfaction of customer requirements and requests.
  • Participate in the implementation of new customers to include but not limited to; assisting in determining rate schedule, planning required manpower to meet Service Level agreements, writing, and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures, etc.
  • Provide consultation and analyses for contract negotiations.
  • Conduct studies in areas of packaging, warehousing, and loading of commodities.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university highly preferred.
  • 7-10 years related experience at management level, in logistics; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge International Air & Sea, Domestic inland freight forwarding.
  • Knowledge FMC, TSA, DOT, and CTPAT regulations,
  • Travel 20% to 30%
