Warehouse Logistics Manager

Global manufacturer and essential business creating high end packaging products for the commercial, military and consumer industry seeks a Warehouse Logistics Manager to join their expanding team. In this role, you will develop, lead, and execute the management of warehouses, the timely flow of all goods, drive efficiency and optimization in overall material handling and maintain accuracy of inventories. This includes leading a team across multiple warehouses. Relocation assistance provided!

  • Oversee all functions related to logistics for shipping, receiving and warehousing operations
  • Plan and implement initiatives to improve picking, packing, shipping and receiving efficiencies
  • with an emphasis on continuous improvement in the movement and storage of raw materials, and components of finished goods.
  • Improve inventory accuracy and on-time delivery of product to external and/or internal customers.
  • Lead, participate, and engage in EHS training, hazard identification, and safety observations
  • Develop programs and solutions to improve efficiency of all warehouse functions, and utilization of warehouse space and dock areas.
  • Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures
  • Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
  • Control inventory levels by conducting daily physical counts; reconciling with data storage system
  • Plan and implement new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement
  • Prepare annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; and initiating corrective actions
  • Champion and lead the inventory and cycle count processes across the facility
  • Participate in contract negotiations with carriers.
  • Develop and administers programs to determine the most advantageous and economical methods of shipment for company products and oversees the scheduling of all carriers for domestic/international shipments.
  • Interface with carriers to monitor shipping, invoicing and billing data.
  • Prepare schedule of pricing and routes for shipping
  • Develop & execute Continuous Improvement (CI) projects, and initiatives
  • Develop & execute seamless flow of raw material and finished goods between work zones, warehouse, and offsite storage
  • Develop & implement SOP’s and Best Practices
  • Determine key performance indicators with Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery KPI’s through establishment of accountability for work
  • Collaborate with other Stakeholders:  Sales, Customer Service, the Corporate Logistics team and Operations to ensure seamless execution of key customer projects

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 5-7 years or more of Warehouse/Shipping and Receiving/Logistics hands on experience
  • Experience working in a manufacturing company
  • In-depth knowledge of WMS functionality, SAP (preferred or some type of VMS,) and warehousing and inventory management procedures
  • Experience leading and managing change
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean Thinking (not necessarily certified but proficient)
  • Certified to drive powered industrial trucks, including, but not limited to, forklifts, scissor lifts, etc.
