Senior Operations Manager

OVERVIEW
International Manufacturer of high quality outdoor products for the consumer and commercial industries, seeks a Senior Operations Manager to join their expanding  team! In this role, you will be a key leader in developing the production team with the continued establishment of lean manufacturing processes ,metrics, and KPI’s while driving safety, quality, velocity and cost improvements. Relocation provided!
 
WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Streamline the services process by minimizing touch points and maximizing automation where possible
  • Meet customer specifications by producing error free quality deliverables in a timely and cost efficient manner
  • Develop and implement a safety first culture
  • Manage employee performance to establish expectations, monitor, and measure contributions Provide employee feedback, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees
  • Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems
  • Facilitate corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments
  • Maintain quality standards by ensuring that all team members follow all work instructions for each client and ensures all staff members are properly trained
  • Participate or lead the creation or improvement of safety standards as a core value of the business
  • Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and staff requirements; implementing change
 WHAT YOU BRING
  • 5+ years' experience in operations management in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma
  • Excellent problem solving skills and track record of implementing process improvement
  • Strong leadership skills and teamwork orientation
  • Data driven and analytical, with general financial acumen
  • Establish and evaluate KPI’s.
  • Maintain a “Hands-on” style
  • Possess a customer focus and awareness of customer needs
  • Enjoy interacting with people and working on cross functional projects
