Overview: National leader providing innovative supply chain solutions & procurement services seeks a Supply Chain Specialist to join their team. Understanding what drives profitability in each contract & the impact of operational strategies and decisions to the bottom line, the successful candidate will perform standard supply chain and procurement tasks with a focus on growing and developing customer relationships.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Actively listens & identifies pull-through business opportunities & potential value-added services with existing customers.
  • Provides recommendations for cost avoidance/spend reduction.
  • Looks for ways to increase efficiency within the processes of the operations department and communicates improvement ideas.
  • Maintains & improves customer satisfaction with respect to procurement activities.
  • Manages vendor contact database with all supplier and manufacturer contact and rating information.
  • Manages a high volume of transactions on a daily basis ensuring timely and accurate entry of all ERP transactions.
  • Enters, receives, and ships customer and supplier purchase orders using various ERP platforms depending upon the contract and customer.
  • Compiles customer and supplier scorecards with the Key Performance Indicators (“KPI”) for top tier suppliers, providing reporting on supplier performance including but not limited to on-time delivery, back order status and order fill rates.
  • Assists in development/management of the collection of information for benchmarking business processes such as performance metrics, quality costs, and customer complaints.
  • Maintains and updates the KPIs and SLAs by contract.
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or other applicable field.
  • At least two years experience in a high transaction procurement processing environment or performing reporting analytics and document control.
  • Experience with commodities for gas and electric utilities or previous experience working in the utility industry.
  • Accomplished with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must have the ability to independently create spreadsheets and perform quantitative analysis.
  • Experience with using data or electronic document management systems, preferably MaxRecall.
  • 1-2 years of MRP system experience preferred. Infor SXe experience is a plus.
