North American Automotive Aftermarket Sales Representative - West Region

Global leader in the automotive aftermarket and OEM seeks a sales representative with extensive experience selling products into the automotive aftermarket. In this role, you will develop key customer relationships with Wholesale Distributors, and Original Equipment Aftermarket Programs to achieve sustainable growth through new acquisitions and retention. Engages with prospective customers at all levels, trade shows, presentations, and proposals. Develop a network of distributor and indirect sales representatives to increase coverage and scale. Advises management on key market issues, product offerings, price points, marketing methods and distribution systems.  This position can be based out of Los Angeles, CA or remotely out of the East Coast or South East remotely, however the majority of this individual’s time will be traveling to visit customers, distributors and industry events.
  • Builds and maintains customer relationships
  • Works with outside Rep Agency Sales Representatives to keep account activities and customer files up to date
  • Prospects for new Aftermarket business while maintaining current customer business base
  • Price Quotations to existing customers based on established price levels and formulas for accounts
  • Extensive verbal and written correspondence with customers.
  • Product Line Development with customers.
  • Awareness of customer credit status in help in monitoring payment history
  • Emphasize salable features, prepare sales forecasts and communicate to internal personnel
  • Prepare and Maintain reports regularly used in department ongoing
  • Attend and Support product expositions, booth preparations, trade shows, filed product launches, etc
  • Building a network of local, regional and national distributors and providing compelling value to accelerate sales and build long term loyalty
  • Develop and manage a network of independent reps to increase reach nationally
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through excellent sales service and support
  • Drive successful execution of our growth driven sales & marketing strategy and enhance strategy through objective market reaction
  • Increase our severe duty brand presence with Fleets locally and nationwide, and ensure that all sales & marketing activities support building our brand in parallel with supporting multiple private brand programs
  • Manage and maintain customer pipeline by stage
  • Professionally represent company at customer, distributor, trade association meetings and trade shows to promote sales growth
Essential Skills:
  • High School Diploma
  • At least 3 years of experience in aftermarket sales/sales management to commercial and wholesale distributors (regional and national)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and AS400 & Oracle is helpful
  • Proven experience developing and managing distributors and independent rep channels to accelerate growth regionally and nationally
  • Energetic, sales oriented, and good customer service skills
  • Requires good organizational skills and be able to multi-task
  • Enthusiastic individual who seeks to gain automotive industry experience
  • A customer focused strategic thinker and solid problem solver
  • Strong work ethic, energetic self-starter, detail oriented and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Results driven with an ability to both manage and execute projects
  • Understanding braking systems, chassis and body related parts is a plus
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable interacting at multiple levels
  • Travel:  Approximately 35% - 45% domestically
