Director of Corporate Accounting

Global Distribution Company seeks a Director of Accounting and Finance to join their expanding team.  We are seeking a financial leader to set the strategy for driving and achieving excellence and lead focused projects. Implement best practice, drive process transformation and develop their staff into a world class financial accounting team! This role reports to the CFO and will manage a Team of fifteen accounting and finance professionals.
  • Oversee daily accounting activities to maintain accounting operations and general ledger.
  • Coordinate and manage monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities including close coordination with operations, subsidiaries, external auditors and tax consultants; reviewing and approving sales/cost reconciliations; reviewing and approving journal entries and account reconciliations; preparing complex journal entries and account reconciliations; and reviewing and approving financial statements.
  • Accounting areas include AR, AP, GL, financial reporting, budgeting, JSOX compliance and cash management.
  • Lead and manage accounting projects, such as system implementation, process improvement, FYE change and fast close, ASC 606 and 842 implementations, and transfer pricing analysis.
  • Track financial performance against budget, highlighting trends and analyzing variances.
  • Reporting includes but not limited to: US GAAP consolidated financial statements and footnotes, quarterly reporting package for parent company, internal financial reporting, annual board meeting materials and other reports requested by senior management and/or parent company.
  • Complete and submit SOX and internal audit question sheets and supporting documents
  • Prepare annual budget by working closely with senior management, branches and other departments
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures for all accounting functions ensuring adequate controls, compliance with all relevant standards and regulations
  • Manage annual audit, tax compliance and government reporting processes to ensure full cooperation with outside auditors and consultants
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • Both public accounting (Big 4) and private industry accounting experience
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in all aspects of accounting including accounting supervisory experience.
  • Excellent technical accounting skills for global reporting under US GAAP (required) and IFRS (preferred)
  • CPA certification
  • SOX experience desirable
  • Experience in multi-state, multi-location environment
  • FP&A experience
  • Advanced level MS Excel (e.g., vlookup, pivot table etc.)
  • Oracle or SAP experience preferred
  • Base salary range 130k-150k
