Payroll Manager

WHO WE ARE:

High end retail chain is seeking a Payroll Manager to join their expanding team. In this role, you will perform payroll accounting and administrative duties including setting up payroll account codes, processing payroll, setting up voluntary deductions, processing and auditing payroll, auditing payroll reports and resolving payroll issues. Responsible for creating and maintaining employee accounts including security roles in payroll software.


 
WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for multi-state non-exempt and exempt approximately 350+ employees.
  • Process New Hires, Terminations, Status Change, Leave of Absences
  • Audit timekeeping- Review for completeness and accuracy
  • Ability to prepare and calculate special checks routinely and/or on demand, i.e., termination pay, etc.
  • Ensure the accuracy of payroll, including but not limited to: base pay, retro, bonuses, stock compensation, payroll taxes, 401K, medical, garnishments and other deductions. This includes payroll-related reports, such as W-2’s and W-2C’s
  • Perform a timely and accurate period and quarterly close process for all Payroll functions, including reconciliations of accounts, review all accruals for accuracy, and ensure that all regular reporting is completed in a timely manner
  • Compile reports on payroll, personnel information, deductions, research, produce special reports and ad-hoc payroll reports); create standard reports for payroll processing or annual audit requests
  • -Experience with processing payroll journal entries.
  • Ensure accurate and timely tax reporting and compliance with state and federal regulations within the U.S.
  • Answer general questions regarding payroll, ADP Time and Attendance and pay check inquires.
  • Partner with HR, Legal and Accounting in ensuring all payroll activities are processed timely and accurately
  • Collaborate and interface on a daily basis with Human Resource counterparts

 
WHAT YOU NEED
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience within a fast paced company
  • ADP Workforce Now, ADP Time and Attendance and ADP Custom Reporting experience
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office (including Excel)
  • Knowledge of federal, state tax, local and labor laws
  • Must be self-motivated, flexible, deadline-oriented and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional multitasking abilities, upbeat demeanor, and ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interface and work with a wide variety of individuals, at all levels
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely (both verbal and written, provides effective communications to team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrates high level of initiative and ability to meet deadlines
